The Purpose of God's Laws

The path toward spiritual freedom will take you beyond self-reliance and DIY religion. God’s commands will push you beyond your natural ability. It’s purpose is to leave you exhausted on the floor from the rat-race of self-effort and independence until you are panting and helpless between a rock and a hard place—until all you can do is to cry out, “Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” (Rom. 7:24)
